As part of our selection process, you’re about to embark on a test designed to assess your skills and knowledge relevant to the role you’re applying for. Below are some important details to help you understand the test structure and what’s expected:

• Passing Score: To successfully pass this test, you’ll need to answer at least 70% of the questions correctly. This threshold has been set to ensure that candidates meet the high standards required for the position.
• Test Duration: You will have 20 minutes to complete the assessment. This time limit has been carefully considered to allow you sufficient time to thoughtfully respond to each question.

#2. What is a drilling spool as per API description?

Simultaneous operations is when two or more jobs are taking place within proximity of each other. This could require a permit to work, task risk assessment, an additional review and revision of each JSA that pertains to each task, and a stop the job must take place to review and sign onto all associated documentation.

Simultaneous operations is when multiple jobs are taking place. When both tasks are equally important and must continue to maintain production. As long as all workers have previously completed the task and know how to work around one another, there should be no unsafe conditions.

Simultaneous operations are when two or more jobs need to be completed at the same time. One or more jobs must stop to allow the most important to take priority. No task is so urgent that it need to be completed in conjunction of another. Stop the job and proceed with the safest option.

#6. How do you minimise risk on a rig and what tools are available?

Look at mechanical ways of increasing productivity and reducing manual handling risks. Recording incidents or near misses to highlight high risk activities. Evaluating processes. Use of Regulations, Codes of Practice, Site Manuals, Implement processes.

Make employees attend training courses that will sign off and acknowledge that they have been trained and are responsible for risks and outcomes.

Engineer out the risks and worker interaction with potential hazards. Although the costs are much higher to engineer and implement, it is the safest course of action to take.

Hire trained workers with a high level of competency and previous work experience.

#7. A worker has been injured on your location and requires offsite medical attention at a clinic or hospital. What steps should you take to initiate the event?

Have the worker safely removed from the work area so operations can continue. Provide medical attention as needed. Assess the worker if the injury is severe or if he can return to work with a reduced duty. If the injury does not appear to be severe, there is no need to alert management or report.

Comfort the worker. provide medical aid as needed, provide pain relief such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Call the emergency contact on the Injured persons contact information. Contact medical transportation if transportation can not be provided. Contact your direct supervisor. Collect statements from all involved.

Have care provided for the injured worker. Notify management and other work parties in the area that can be affected. Secure the scene so an accurate investigation can be conducted. Complete a flash report of the incident and the injured persons personal information to be sent with the IP. Complete an incident report that will assist with a Taproot investigation. Implement safety protocols. Establish a return-to-work program.

Allow the Primary Operator or Oil Company to take the lead of the event since it has taken place on their worksite. Assist with what is needed but do not assume responsibility for the injury for legal reasons. Inform your direct supervisor but refrain from getting involved.

#8. If changes are required to the drilling program, who and how should all parties be consulted and informed?

Contact the Prime operator of the change. If the change is not well received, state your request making safety the main priority. Many operators deliver the drilling program that is not fully applicable to the rig equipment, to drilling operations or the workers capabilities.

Contact with the Company representative. Assess if the change is required and what additional risk to safety, to quality, to cost and to the schedule will be impacted positively or negatively. Proceed with confirmation from the prime operator and a revision to the drilling program has been received and acknowledged.

It is always easiest to verbally discuss the change with the site representative and resolve the request without escalating it to management.
